Will stories II

More stories:

One day I was talking to him about a garden and a farm, and I said "Will, do you know what a farmer does?"
Will: "Ee-i-ee-i-o"

And then today Billy said "I'm so hungry I could eat a cow."
Will: "No, you don't eat cows." (like it was the silliest thing ever)
Billy: "Well, where do hamburgers come from?"
Will: "Donalds" (Mcdonalds)

He was making a building w/ his legos and he said "There! Nobody will come out of that chimney now!" haha. Was he thinking about Santa?

He's been watching SuperWhy lately, and one day he said, "Have no fear! I'll fix it."

Adalynn's still learning to be nice to Cozette (our cat), and one day I guess she was being a little mean to her and Will said, "Adalynn! Don't pinch. Be nice to my Mozette! I love her!"

He's been so sweet lately, just out of nowhere when we are eating lunch or playing he'll say "Mommy, I love you." And he's been giving his sisters hugs and kisses lately and telling him he loves them too.

After prayer every night we always give the kids hugs but just this last week or so I've been saying Tessa needs a hug too. So everyone gives everyone individual hugs. Will and Adalynn love giving Tessa hugs, and I think it has really helped all the kids act more loving towards each other lately. Tessa just really seems to love Will even more now. She'll crawl right up to him and kindof attack him (haha) but in a loving way- that's just how she is- climbing all over people. But she laughs at him and she's even tried to give him slobbery kisses. It makes me feel so good to see them being nice to each other.

Soon I will have stories of the cute things Adalynn says. Right now it just seems that EVERY thing she says is cute! Every time she says a new word or a whole sentence it's just the coolest thing. But if I was writing down every new thing she said I'd be here all day. That girl can talk so good for not even two! Soon I'm sure I'll be writing her funny stories.

Will stories

Here's a conversation between Will's Daddy and Will this morning. (this is a typical conversation)

Billy: "Will, did you do this?"
Will: "Yes." (Will cannot tell a lie even if he's in trouble he'll admit w/ no hesitation to what he's done)
Billy: "Why'd you do this?"
Will: "Because I did it."

Haha! That's pretty much the answer to every why question. "Because I did it." Which does not tell you a thing. But so funny.


Billy's computer is often slow and gives him problems. So the other day Will sat on the couch w/ his little laptop and he said "I have a lot of work to do." Then he said "C'mon puter!"


I put a box of toys away before Tessa was born b/c we now have enough to alternate toys, and yesterday I got the box of toys out- I think the kids thought it was Christmas. It was like they were all new toys. Then Will started saying w/ every toy "I missed this." "I really missed this." "Thank you for giving me this toy, Mommy." He was saying that w/ everything he picked up- even his old toys that never went away. :)


I know there are more stories that I don't remember right now. One day I was laughing so hard at something he said and I thought I'll have to write that down, but then I forgot. Maybe I'll remember it later.

Blackberry bush

One day when our son Jesse was a toddler, I was watching our children play in the yard. Suddenly I realized that he was no longer with the others. One moment he was there, and the next he was gone.

My heart pounded in panic. I called out for him as I frantically searched the yard. Soon I heard his frightened cries, which I followed. I found Jesse in the yard next door, entangled in the middle of some blackberry vines. He struggled to escape, but each time he moved, thorns from the vines buried themselves deeper into his clothing and skin. He was frightened and in pain. It took me quite some time to remove each thorn and pull Jesse free.

It hurt me to see my little child suffer. But then I remembered the large pond located in the neighbor’s yard. If the blackberries had not detained Jesse, he might have wandered into the pond and risked drowning.

I’ve since learned that God sometimes allows us to stumble into thorny places to protect us from more harmful situations. He loves us and does what is best for us, even when it hurts terribly, because sometimes the pain is necessary for our physical safety or spiritual growth. When we turn to Him in our trials, He carefully pulls out the thorns and comforts our hearts.

My experience with my son—what I now call “the parable of the blackberries”—has brought comfort to me as I have watched my children endure trials and challenges. I am reminded that our trials and suffering have purpose and that the Lord always has our best interest in mind, even when allowing us to suffer temporarily among life’s blackberry thorns.

Tessa like playing outside for the first time.


It's not easy giving 3 kids a bath at the same time but it's doable. They have fun together. Will always thinks it's hilarious when I do funny things to Adalynn's hair. I need to put a mirror in there so she can see it too.


Will made this "bed" all by himself. I didn't even know he was doing it. Looks comfy huh?... funny boy.


Adalynn's been puckering her lips like this a lot lately. I think it is funny b/c it's something I do when I'm concentrating. Like mother like daughter.


Daddy's little girl. I think she's got him wrapped around her finger- is that how the expression goes? Today he was going to get after her for something, and she just looked at him all sweetly and said "Saw-ee, Da-ee" He said she was so sweet, he just let it go. She melts his heart.


OK, I have a lot of pig tail pictures of Adalynn. She wears her hair down almost every day, so when I put it up I always think "Oh, she looks so cute I gotta get a picture." Now I'm realizing that in all the pictures I have of her lately she has her hair up. But we like it.
